2019-2020: The Beng Schoolhouse

After the success of the Sret Schoolhouse, we began fundraising for a second schoolhouse. This project was located in Beng Province, on the northern border of Cambodia. Again, we partnered with the British Schools Foundation in England, and the project was managed by the Trailblazers USA--an NGO on the ground in Siem Reap. By the early Spring of 2018, we had raised enough funds for the construction to begin. The project cost was $80,000, and construction took 11 months. The doors opened for 500 schoolchildren in January 2019. In March 2019, we were able to visit the children and watch as they learned in their new classrooms.
